Step-By-Step Cooking Information and Guidance
In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes, until foamy.
Add the egg, 4 tablespoons melted butter, Morton Table Salt, and 3 cups of flour. Mix until a soft dough forms, adding the remaining flour gradually as needed.
Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for 8–10 minutes, until smooth and elastic. The dough should feel soft and slightly tacky, but not overly sticky. Alternatively, use a stand mixer with a dough hook for 5–7 minutes.
Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl and cover with a clean towel. Let rise in a warm place for 60–75 minutes, or until doubled in size.
Gently punch down the dough and divide into 12 equal portions. Shape each into a smooth ball and arrange in a greased 9-by-13-inch baking dish, leaving a little space between them.
Cover and let rise for another 30–45 minutes, until the rolls are noticeably puffy and beginning to touch. Once risen, gently brush the rolls with 3 tablespoons melted butter and sprinkle evenly with Morton Coarse Sea Salt.
Preheat oven to 375°F. Bake for 18–22 minutes, until the tops are golden brown and the rolls are cooked through.
Serve warm.
