You know that feeling when you cut into an avocado only to find it is bruised and has a few brown spots? I actually get excited because I know it means I am going to make this dip! With avocados, tons of herbs, garlic and citrus - this dip feels like a treat every time I make it. But, do you want to know the secret ingredient?

My homemade everything bagel seasoning with Morton® Coarse Kosher Salt! The Kosher salt won’t dissolve quickly in the dip, leaving every bite to be the perfect combination of savory, creamy and salty dip-liciousness!

Food Waste Tip:
Have some bruising on your avocados? No need to get rid of them. Puree them into a dip where no one will ever be able to tell they had few brown spots and you still get a ton of great flavor.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe (or slightly overripe) avocados, peeled and pitted
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • ½ bunch parsley, roughly 1 cup
  • 3 sprigs dill, leaves and stems
  • 1 sprig tarragon, leaves and stems
  • 10 chives
  • ½ lemon, zest and juice
  • 3 tablespoons everything bagel seasoning, plus more for garnish

MORTON®
COARSE KOSHER SALT

  1. To the base of a food processor, add the avocados, mayonnaise, and sour cream. Blend on high for 10-15 seconds, until fully combined.

  2. Add in the herbs, garlic, lemon zest and lemon juice. Run the food processor on high for 25-30 seconds until the herbs have been chopped and the dip turns green in color.

  3. Remove to a bowl and stir in 3 tablespoons of everything bagel seasoning.

  4. Serve topped with more everything bagel seasoning and cracker and/or fresh cut crudité. Or, refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 5 days.

Homemade Everything Bagel Seasoning:

Ingredients:

  •  2 tablespoons white sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon black sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 1 tablespoon dried minced onions
  • 1 tablespoon dried minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Morton® Coarse Kosher Salt

Instructions:

To a small bowl, add all of the ingredients and mix until well combined.
