From source to shelf, every grain has a journey. Across more than 20 facilities in North America, we rely on three different production processes to create the products our customers depend on. The result? A diverse portfolio of products that serves a wide range of businesses and industries.

Mining

On a typical day, we extract 29,500 tons of salt from our mines. Here, salt is mined hundreds of feet underground and then crushed into smaller sizes. It is then hoisted to the surface for further processing.

Evaporation

Approximately 450,000 round cans and 280,000 bags are produced every day in our facilities. At our evaporation sites, salt is produced by evaporating water, leaving behind pure salt crystals that are collected, cleaned, and prepared for use.

At our solar sites, we draw ocean, sea or saline lake water into large ponds. Sun and wind evaporate the water and salt crystallizes and is collected using mechanical harvesting equipment.
