Morton Salt Girl Can Make Advertising Industry History as First Girl Icon Voted Into Madison Avenue Walk of Fame a Advertising Week

September 10, 2014

Morton Salt Girl Supporters Encouraged to Vote Her Into Walk of Fame in Advertising Week Icons Poll.

What would make an advertising icon’s centennial year complete? For the Morton Salt Girl, it would be to earn a spot on the Advertising Week Walk of Fame – the ad industry’s version of The Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Now in her 100th year, the Morton Salt Girl recently earned a nomination for Advertising Week’s prestigious Walk of Fame on Madison Avenue in New York City. If selected, she would become the first girl icon to appear on the Walk of Fame.

Each year, a brand icon is added to the Walk of Fame and recognized with a permanent street banner. Winning icons are selected through a public voting process.

Morton Salt is encouraging fans to cast their vote for the Morton Salt Girl in the poll on Advertising Week’s Facebook page (https://woobox.com/hhx4yj/9p6i71). The poll closes on Friday, Sept. 19.

“The Morton Salt Girl walked into our lives 100 years ago and has been part of the fabric of America ever since,” said Shayn Wallace, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Morton Salt. “Let’s rally around the Morton Salt Girl now in her centennial year and vote for her in the Advertising Week poll so she can appear on the Walk of Fame.”

Advertising Week will reveal who is selected for the Walk of Fame on Monday, Sept. 29 at the NASDAQ MarketSite.
