Hard Water: Simple Causes,
Major Effects
What is hard water?
As rainwater passes through the earth into lakes, streams and ground water, it picks up certain "hardness" minerals such as calcium and magnesium – minerals that will precipitate and clog pipes, damaging your equipment. Iron can be particularly troublesome.
The ion-exchange process removes hardness, commonly known as "softening" the water. This reduces the maintenance associated with cleaning or replacing processing pipes and equipment that are clogged with hardness deposits.
Unrivaled Hardness Removal
These deposits can foul any part touched by hard water. For example, if your company uses 50,000 gallons of water per month, with hardness of 18 grains, that translates into 1,500 pounds of hardness minerals passing through your system every year. Morton® System Saver® II patented formula will keep virtually all of this unwanted material out of your process water and its unique time–release mechanism offers consistent performance – from first batch to last.
